Buckalews Awarded 'Coal Bucket'

Erston and Betty Buckalew are the 2003 winners of the Maple Street "Coal Bucket."  They were chosen by last year's winner, Marianne Jackson, pictured here between them.  The Coal Bucket is awarded to the person or persons who work unselfishly, often without recognition, for the good of the church and Christ.  The Coal Bucket remains in the trophy case at the church, but the recipients keep an engraved, brass ash-shovel for a year.  Congratulations, Erston and Betty.  It is an honor well-deserved.  The bucket was awarded on Laity Sunday, October 19, during the Morning Worship Service.
